SARATOGA BRIDE, Top 10 Honeymoon Destinations

[wbc_heading title=”Top 10 Honeymoon Destinations for 2018″ font_size=”40″ p_bottom=”10″]
While your wedding is sure to be the best event of your lives, your honeymoon should be the greatest and most memorable vacation. Well, at least the first of many as a married couple.
Today more than ever, couples are working with travel advisors to help them plan their honeymoons, because long gone are the days of just sitting on a beach. Honeymoons have become much more about world travel and newlyweds wanting to share enriching life experiences together.
The perfect honeymoon (which is unique to every couple) is a carefully tailored combination of romance, relaxation and custom experiences which can range from adventure, culinary, spa, safari and beyond.
[wbc_heading title=”1. Caribbean” font_size=”30″]

The Caribbean remains a top destination in 2018. Only 14% of all hotel rooms were affected by the 2017 hurricanes and most have already re-opened or are scheduled to in 2018. It may actually be one of the best years ever to plan a visit to the Caribbean islands.
St. Lucia – Jade Mountain is an Adults Only resort and one of the best honeymoon resorts in the world, not just the Caribbean. The majority of the open-air rooms have luxurious infinity pools, all with stunning views of The Piton Mountains.
Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla will re-open April 2018. Anguilla has the best beaches and clearest/bluest water in the Caribbean and if you are a foodie, this is the place to be. Be sure to try the crayfish at Dad’s and say hi to Alex for us.

[wbc_heading title=”2. Thailand” font_size=”30″]

Both the north and south of Thailand are bucket list destinations and will steal your hearts forever. The people, history, food, culture, beaches and natural beauty will make you wonder no more why they call it the “land of smiles.”
Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai – Experience the resort of a lifetime nestled in the Mae Rim Valley. There are working rice paddy fields at the center of the resort, two resident buffalo and be sure to try their Khao Soi Gai dish. OMG!
Monkey Flower Villas (Koh Tao) – Reserve the “Upper Villa” and you actually may never leave. A very private and special place with the best views of Sairee Beach.
Six Senses Yao Noi – Not only does every room at this resort enjoy stunning views overlooking the limestone karsts in Phang Nga Bay, they also have private infinity pools. There is so much goodness here, it’s heavenly. There is even an on-site (homemade) ice cream parlor.

[wbc_heading title=”3. Italy” font_size=”30″]

This timeless classic never goes out of style. Here you will find the richest history, arguably the best wine and food in the world along with breathtaking views, especially at these hotels.
Le Sirenuse – Located in the heart of Positano on the Amalfi Coast with stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, Positano and Capri. This resort is home to the world-renowned restaurant, La Sponda.
Hotel Pitrizza, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Costa Smeralda – Embedded into Sardinia’s Emerald Coast, this resort is perfect for couples looking for some privacy within the unspoiled natural beauty of a world class resort. Complete with private pools and bespoke butler service.
Belmond Villa Sant’Andrea – Perched on an idyllic stretch of Sicilian Coast in Taormina, this former villa stands out with its glamour and old-world charm. Be sure to hire one of the private beach cabanas for the day and don’t forget to visit Mt. Etna.

[wbc_heading title=”4. South Africa” font_size=”30″]

A magical place that is so different as you explore from region to region. In addition to the Luxury “Big Five” Safari’s, it has one of the best cities in the world, Cape Town as well as wine countries, Franschhoek. And of course, please don’t leave without seeing Victoria Falls.
Singita Sabi Sand – Located directly in the private game reserve, this luxury safari experience is renowned for their unbeatable game viewing experiences. With so much to do beyond Safari, it is an incredible experience.
The Royal Livingstone Anantara – Stretches along the banks of the Zambezi River and a stone’s throw from Victoria Falls. Arrive by boat and also experience zebras and giraffes while dining. A must for every couple is the “Devil’s Pool.”

[wbc_heading title=”5. Hawaii” font_size=”30″]

An ideal destination for honeymooner’s as they have something for everyone. If time allows, definitely visit more than one island since they are all offer something different. Splurge on the helicopter tours – They are the best way to see the islands, especially the volcanos.
Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort – 15 acres of beachfront beauty, this is definitely the hot place to stay in Wailea right now and is in a great location.
Four Seasons Resort Hualalai (Kona) – Built into its natural surroundings, this ultimate honeymoon resort provides total immersion into the Hawaiian culture and history of the Big Island. Plan the private beach dining as a honeymoon surprise.

[wbc_heading title=”6. French Polynesia” font_size=”30″]

The picture-perfect setting for any dream honeymoon. The most well-known islands in this region are: Bora Bora, Tahiti and Moorea. This area in the South Pacific has been made famous for their stunning over-the-water bungalows (OTWB) and crystal-clear water. Definitely a once in a lifetime vacation and honeymoon.
Paul Gauguin Cruise – Our #1 recommendation on the best way to visit The Society Islands. 7-night plus options (they also do Fiji) with on-board blessing ceremonies for all newlyweds and the best part is that it is all-inclusive. Combine this with a few nights at an OTWB and you’re all set.
The Brando – This eco-friendly All-Inclusive luxury resort has 35 villas on private beaches with plunge pools. Located on the atoll of Tetiaroa, a 20-minute private flight will bring you here from Papeete, Tahiti.
Intercontinental Bora Bora – In December 2017, this resort added four luxurious “Brando Suites Bora Bora” that sit in quiet seclusion at the very end of the pontoons and gaze across the lagoon at Mt. Otemanu.

[wbc_heading title=”7. Mexico” font_size=”30″]

An easy getaway from most U.S. destinations; a favorite for not only honeymoons, but also Destination Weddings. Below are recommendations in the Riviera Maya area, but we also love The Resort at Pedegrel and Las Ventanas in Cabo as well.
The Viceroy Riviera Maya – This Adults-Only, eco-chic beachfront refuge has just 41 thatched-roof villas, each with plunge pools, outdoor showers and hammocks. The spa draws upon ancient rituals (including having a shaman who will bless you), while the cuisine fuses Mayan and Mediterranean traditions.
El Dorado Maroma – Maroma Beach is one of the best beaches in Mexico and this resort features All-Inclusive Over-The-Water Bungalows (OTWB) with plunge pools (all of them). Out of all of your OTWB options out there, this is where you will get the most bang for your buck and they are gorgeous!
Grand Velas Riviera Maya – Experience luxury and relaxation in the Adults Only (and All-Inclusive) Ocean Front Grand Class section of this resort. Each suite comes with a private terrace, plunge pool and stunning Caribbean sunsets. Make sure to reserve an extra day to spend at their unbelievable spa. It is not to be missed!

[wbc_heading title=”8. Cambodia/Vietnam” font_size=”30″]

If you are going to travel half way across the world, we suggest that you try to do at least 2 countries (possibly 3) in South East Asia while you are there. You can also combine either of these two with Thailand depending on how long you have to travel and what your budget is.
Song Saa Resort (Cambodia) – Situated on a private island an accessible only by private plane, this is the new standard in sustainable luxury. Traditional blessing ceremonies by local Buddhist monks, all-organic spa treatments, yoga by sunrise and snorkeling safaris alongside a marine biologist are just a few of the highlights found at this special resort.
Belmond La Residence d’Angkor (Siem Riep) – Situation on the riverside, this hotel is 10 minutes away from Angkor Wat. You will also be close to the upcoming fashion distrist of Kandal street, art galleries and the bustling markets.
InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort (Hoi An, Vietnam) – Nestled in the mythical Monkey Mountain overlooking a sparkling private bay. Each room offers panoramic view of the East Sea, while the seaside Villa collection includes private pools and elite Butlers.

[wbc_heading title=”9. Argentina” font_size=”30″]

Argentina has many benefits beyond the destination itself. Fly from NYC to Buenos Aires overnight and land in the same time zone (give or take an hour). It is also in the southern hemisphere, so a great choice for winter weddings. It is an incredibly authentic and dynamic country with incredible cuisine, history, scenery and even one of our world’s top natural wonders.
Faena Hotel Buenos Aires – A staple in the social scene and total epicurean destination. This hip hotel’s El Cabaret features Rojo Tango, the city’s most passionate tango show which is a ‘must do’ for all Buenos Aires visitors. This city is also soaking in such rich history and culture.
Cavas Wine Lodge (Mendoza) – Located on a 55-acre vineyard, this is the ultimate location for wine tasting, relaxing, horseback riding, hiking, bicycling and visiting the over 900 wineries in the region which is best known for their Malbec’s.
Belmond Hotel das Cataratas – Technically this resort is in Brazil, but is the honeymoon resort to reside at while visiting Iguazu Falls, which you will want to explore from both sides (Argentina and Brazil). It is one of the great natural wonders of our world and be sure to book the helicopter ride.

[wbc_heading title=”10. Costa Rica” font_size=”30″]

Start your honeymoon with adventures the rainforest such as white water rafting, hot springs, zip lining, hanging bridges and more; and then relax at the beach for Part 2. You can also take part in chocolate and coffee tours/tastings and surf school.
Nayara Springs (La Fortuna) – Luxurious accommodations in the heart of the 30,000-acre Arenal Volcano National Park including spectacular views of the 6,000-foot, active Arenal Volcano. In the adults-only Nayara Springs section, each of the 35 villas features a thermal hot spring plunge pool.
Four Seasons (Liberia) – Exclusive Pacific Ocean retreat on the tip of Peninsula Papagayo with two pristine beaches, four pools and a whirlpool grotto — all surrounded by lush, indigenous landscaping which invites total relaxation. We recommend ordering the Pipa Fria (freshly cut), a chilled coconut cocktail. Pura Vida!
